Guwahati: Bodoland Territorial Council Chief Hagrama Mohilary arrived in Sivasagar on August 6 to combat the humanitarian fallout of relentless flooding. He led a 104-member relief squad. The team traveled from Kokrajhar to reach the disaster zone.

Assam MLA Arup Kumar Dey joined the delegation for the trip. Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi met the group upon their arrival and guided them through the hardest-hit localities. The team brought thousands of mosquito nets, bedsheets, and hygiene kits. They handed these supplies directly to families living through the ongoing deluge.

Sivasagar town remains underwater. Residents face daily struggles as their homes stay submerged. Gogoi praised the group for showing up in person rather than just shipping supplies.

"We are grateful and thankful to Hagrama Mohilary and the entire team. They have brought bedsheets, mosquito nets, essential hygiene products and other relief items for the flood victims. As Sivasagar town remains completely submerged, this assistance will greatly benefit the affected people," Gogoi said.

The visit served as a visible show of solidarity. It provided tangible relief to those trapped by the water. The BTC team focused their efforts on areas where normal life has stalled.
