Broken Cameras Hamper Theft Probe at Silchar Court

Guwahati: A thief walked into the Silchar court premises and rode off with a lawyer's motorcycle. The crime has turned into a massive headache for local police. The bike vanished while parked inside the campus walls.

Lawyers are livid. They say the court's CCTV network has been dead for nearly a year. Repeated requests to fix the system fell on deaf ears. Now, those same authorities have no footage to track the thief.

Members of the Bar are tired of the silence. They argue that identifying the culprits would have been simple if the gear actually worked. One lawyer stated, "The absence of functional surveillance equipment has complicated the investigation into the theft."

The legal community wants immediate action. They are demanding that the cameras get fixed and security get tightened. They also want the people behind the theft caught fast. Until then, the court remains an easy target.
