Itanagar: The Border Roads Organisation just finished a 180-foot Bailey bridge in the Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh. This new link restores access to forward areas near the border. It is a win for national security and local residents.
The job was hard. Crews fought through relentless monsoon rains and flash flood threats. They labored around the clock in rugged, mountainous terrain. Team 85 Road Construction Company and the 756 Task Force managed the project under Project Arunank.
An official noted the intensity of the work: "Our teams showed unwavering commitment to overcome severe logistical and environmental obstacles. The successful completion of this bridge is crucial to reinforcing national security infrastructure and providing a lifeline to local populations residing in remote border pockets."
The triple-double reinforced structure serves a dual purpose. It helps move troops and heavy military gear to the Line of Actual Control. It also connects isolated villages to schools, markets, and healthcare. This project marks a shift toward better all-weather connectivity in India's frontier regions.
