Guwahati: Noman Dewan, an active BJP worker from Fancy Bazar, says he was kidnapped and held captive for four hours at the Break Point Sports Club. The club sits near Nehru Stadium on B. Barooah College Road. A group of up to 30 people allegedly trapped him inside on June 21.

Dewan identified Anil, Pawan, Manjeet, and Suhel Basfor as the ringleaders. He claims the attack stems from a grudge dating back four years. The captors allegedly beat him while demanding cash. Dewan says the group threatened his life, and he remains terrified. "He was held captive and brutally assaulted by a group of 25 to 30 people," the victim alleged in his report.

The victim finally escaped after his father alerted the authorities. Dewan filed a formal complaint at the Pan Bazar Police Station on June 22. Officials later shifted the case to the Paltan Bazar station.

Family members report that the suspects are still sending death threats. Local police have stayed quiet. They have not released an official statement or confirmed any arrests. Supporters of BJP MLA Vijay Gupta are now calling for a full investigation.
