Itanagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party has officially named veteran politician Tai Tagak as its candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election in Arunachal Pradesh. The nomination follows Tagak's long history of service to the party in the state.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised the decision, noting that the nomination serves as a fitting recognition of decades of unwavering commitment to the organisation and its ideals. Khandu highlighted Tagak's essential role in establishing the party during its early years in the region, noting that he remained steadfast during challenging periods when many were hesitant to align with the BJP.
The Chief Minister credited the veteran leader for working tirelessly at the grassroots level to expand the party's reach across the state. In his statement, Khandu described the honor as a reflection of Tagak's loyalty, perseverance and dedication to the cause, while offering his support for the leader's transition into the new role.
