Imphal: The second day of the three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir public welfare camp took place at Chingphu Ningthou Sembileima Haraobung in Ishok. More than 1,000 local citizens attended the event to access various government services and welfare programs.
Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam inspected department stalls and oversaw the progress of the initiative. She explained that the camp focuses on registering new beneficiaries, correcting existing records, and settling public grievances. Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner said that the camp aims to ensure "effective outreach and saturation of welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes so that every eligible citizen can access government services and benefits."
More than 20 departments participated in the camp, including Health, Social Welfare, Agriculture, and the District Child Protection Unit. Officials such as Additional District Magistrate Toijam Opendro and SDO Nambol Shyamkumar attended to support the service delivery efforts. Elangbam encouraged all assigned staff to work diligently to ensure the event serves the public effectively.
This nationwide initiative continues until 20 June. The final day of the Bishnupur camp will be held at Maibram Mandop near the Ibudhou Thangjing Temple in Moirang. Officials are urging residents to take full advantage of the remaining services offered during this final session.
