Guwahati: Assamese film XYZ arrives in theaters on July 24, 2026. Director Himanshu Prasad Das uses political satire to explore how election cycles disrupt and shape the lives of everyday people. The production is the first for Hemanta Kalita of Sualkuchi, who backed the project under his Rhythm Creation banner.

The script, written by Ashiq Zaman, features a cast including Bhabesh Boruah, Siddhartha Sarma, Upakul Bordoloi, and Pranami Bora. The narrative uses fictional groups like the Brinjal Party to parody election culture. It avoids targeting specific political parties while highlighting community dynamics.

Das shot much of the movie in Sualkuchi. He employed roughly 200 local residents to ground the story in an authentic setting. The film aims to shift focus from powerful politicians to the silent participants of democracy.

According to Das, the title is intentional. He explained, "Rather than referring to a particular individual, it represents the countless unnamed and often overlooked people who play an indispensable role in the political process."

The crew recently promoted the project at Shraddhanjali Kanan. They released the official poster and debuted a new romantic track from Bhaskar Opswel. This project follows Das's previous work on films like Goru and Bulu Film. He continues his pattern of mixing comedy with heavy social themes to challenge how viewers see public participation.
