Guwahati: Football fans in Assam have a new reason to celebrate. The state government is setting up dedicated fan parks for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Large screens will broadcast live matches to crowds in Guwahati and Dibrugarh.

The Assam Tourism Development Corporation is running the CM FIFA Fan Park project. Organizers want to recreate a stadium experience for fans who want to watch the games together. The first site opens at Latasil Playground in Guwahati on June 29. The Dibrugarh event starts at Chowkidingee Field on June 30.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the plans on X. He expects a high turnout. "The opportunity to cheer for his favourite teams with hundreds of fellow fans would make the World Cup experience even more special," the Chief Minister said.

The government hopes these spots will spark community spirit across the state. Football lovers from across India are welcome to join the fun. Show up and watch.
