Guwahati: The Assam government pulled five more officials from their posts this week. They allegedly secured their jobs through crooked recruitment practices. Officials identified the suspended workers as Hiran Kumar Saikia, Madhab Das, Gautam Gogoi, Mehzubin Begum, and Saimin Mannan.

This move follows a string of similar disciplinary actions across the state. Earlier investigations led to the suspension of Ananya Borthakur, Pranjal Bora, and Nayanmoni Pamegam. The total count of suspended personnel now sits at eight. The government continues to investigate these irregular appointments. State authorities stated, "Further details regarding the specific recruitment processes and the findings that led to the suspensions are awaited."
