Assam Student Receives Presidential Gold Medal for Academic Excellence

Guwahati: Preeti Shah has earned national recognition after receiving a gold medal for securing the top position in her Master of Arts in Hindi program at Sikkim University. She accepted the award and certificate directly from President Droupadi Murmu during the university's recent convocation ceremony.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised Shah for her academic achievement. He noted that her success demonstrates that talent and access to opportunity carry more weight than an individual's financial background. The Chief Minister added that his administration remains committed to fostering an environment where young people from all walks of life can thrive.

Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka also celebrated the accomplishment, highlighting that Shah is the daughter of a local street vendor named Ramananda Shah.
