Guwahati: Assam’s digital push is paying off. The government’s Sewa Setu portal has pushed through more than 1.5 crore services for citizens online. Officials claim the platform brings governance directly to the public through a simple digital interface.
The system now handles over 800 distinct services spanning 47 departments and three Autonomous Sixth Schedule Councils. It keeps moving fast. The platform boasts a service disposal rate topping 90 per cent. It also handled over 94,000 public complaints with an 86 per cent resolution rate.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the state’s drive to modernize. He said the government is "committed to bringing governance to the fingertips of every citizen through technology-driven initiatives."
The portal links directly to DigiLocker and the UMANG app. This allows users to grab documents and file requests from anywhere. State officials showcased these results during the 11YearsOfDigitalIndia campaign, pinning the platform as the primary engine for Assam's move toward digital governance.
