Kohima: Assam Rifles recently launched a series of community outreach initiatives across Nagaland aimed at supporting education, environmental awareness, and civil-military cooperation. These programs engaged diverse age groups, ranging from pre-primary children to local village leaders.
In Avakhung village, troops celebrated World Bee Day by teaching residents about modern apiculture. The workshop highlighted the economic benefits of organic honey production and provided practical training on hive management to help villagers boost their local income.
Young students across the state also benefited from various events. In Tening, 40 students and five teachers joined personnel for a cleanliness drive to promote environmental protection. Meanwhile, at the Assam Rifles Public School in Jalukie, pre-primary pupils participated in a learning-through-play program that utilized games and sports to encourage creative development.
In Kohima, the security forces hosted 80 students from Minister Hill Higher Secondary School for a team-building event. The day included games like volleyball and tug of war to build camaraderie between the students and military personnel. Additionally, in Sanghkumti village, 50 students received essential stationery supplies to support their ongoing education.
