Assam Police Target Illegal Motorcycle Modifications in Road Safety Crackdown

Guwahati: Jogighopa Police in Assam's Bongaigaon district have launched a campaign against reckless motorists and illegally modified motorcycles. The effort aims to improve local road safety and reduce the frequency of accidents.

During a recent operation near the FCI area, officers stopped a rider accused of operating a modified bike that produced excessive noise. Authorities detained the individual and required them to dismantle the unauthorized parts immediately. The rider stripped away the illegal accessories on the spot while under police supervision.

Officials confirmed the action stemmed from violations of vehicle modification regulations and the creation of a public nuisance. Jogighopa Police stated that "strict measures are being taken against reckless riders and owners of illegally modified motorcycles" to curb noise pollution. This enforcement drive against traffic violations will continue in the coming days as authorities work to ensure better compliance with road safety standards.
