Guwahati: Assam police hauled in a massive drug shipment early June 27. Officers in Sribhumi district confiscated Yaba tablets valued at Rs 2.4 crore. They moved on the stash after receiving a tip from reliable sources. One person is currently in handcuffs.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the bust on X. He labeled the haul a clear victory against the flow of illegal narcotics. "The consignment was allegedly meant for illegal trafficking and posed a serious threat to the youth," Sarma said. Authorities believe the drugs were headed for local streets.

The state continues a hard push to shut down trafficking routes. Investigators are now working to track the wider network behind this deal. Police remain tight-lipped on the suspect's identity while the probe gains steam.
