Guwahati: Assam Police shut down a hidden drug lab in Cachar district. Officers seized 10,000 Yaba tablets stashed inside a furniture shop. The haul has a street value of roughly Rs 1 crore. One suspect is now in custody.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the bust on June 29. He highlighted the speed of the operation following another major narcotics seizure just one day prior. The police are keeping the pressure on traffickers.

Sarma took to social media to call out the success of the force. "Just 24 hours after a big catch, another one lands in the soup! In an intel-backed operation, Cachar Police recovered 10,000 Yaba tablets worth around Rs 1 crore from a clandestine unit disguised as a furniture shop and apprehended one accused. Assam Police isn't letting up," he wrote.

Investigators are still working the case. They want to find the source of the drugs and hunt down other members of the ring.
