Assam Police Raid Golakganj Drug Den, Detain Two Suspects

Guwahati: Assam Police raided a house in Sonakhuli, Golakganj, targeting the home of suspected drug dealer Majnu Sheikh. Officers moved in after receiving intelligence regarding illegal narcotics trade in the area. The operation netted drugs and two suspects.

Police detained Mizanur Rahman from Sonakhuli and Majnu Haque from Kherbari. They were allegedly involved in moving and selling the stash. The raid is part of a broader crackdown against local drug supply channels across the state.

Authorities are currently working to identify the origin of the seized narcotics. Investigators are also looking for connections to larger trafficking operations. Police officials stated, "Further details, including the exact quantity and type of narcotics recovered, are awaited."

A case is pending under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Investigators expect to file charges once they confirm the nature of the substances found on the property. The probe continues.
