Guwahati: Juria Police arrested a man identified as Ansarul Haque following an operation against the illegal drug trade in Assam's Nagaon district. Officers apprehended the suspect after receiving specific intelligence regarding the movement of narcotics in the area.
During the search, authorities recovered a quantity of suspected heroin from Haque. Police subsequently took him into custody to conduct further interrogation. Officials have registered a case and are investigating to determine the source of the contraband, as well as potential ties to a broader trafficking network.
The operation represents a continued effort by local law enforcement to curb the sale and distribution of narcotics. Police stated that the arrest is "part of the ongoing drive by Juria Police against the sale and distribution of illegal narcotic substances in the district."
