Assam police arrest eight in Nagaon hotel prostitution raid

Guwahati: Authorities in Assam dismantled an alleged prostitution operation at a hotel along the Nagaon bypass on Saturday. Borghat Police conducted the raid after receiving reports that the establishment was facilitating illegal activities.

Officers detained eight individuals during the operation, including two women and six men. Police identified five of the arrested men as Atibur Rahman, Zahar Ali, Azaharul Islam, Rabbul, and Mashadihul Islam. The names of the remaining three detainees have not been released.

All suspects are currently in police custody for questioning. Investigators are working to determine the full scope of the racket and are checking if other individuals were involved in managing the illicit business. Further legal proceedings against the detainees are currently underway.
