Guwahati: Assam is adding a 500-bed hospital wing to the Pragjyotishpur Medical College and Hospital. This project marks a major push to overhaul the state medical system. Construction starts soon.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the development. He stated the new block will ensure better medical access for local residents. According to the Chief Minister, the project "reflects the state's commitment to strengthening public healthcare and expanding access to quality medical services."
