Guwahati: Assam Minister Atul Bora visited the Simen River railway bridge on July 1. Torrential rain in nearby Arunachal Pradesh triggered massive flooding. The rising water damaged the critical bridge structure. Now, train services remain stalled across the Dhemaji district.

Bora serves as the Dhemaji District Guardian Minister. He brought local officials, including the President and CEO of the Dhemaji Zila Parishad, to examine the wreckage. They need to figure out how bad the damage is. The minister shared his efforts on X, stating, "I reviewed the prevailing situation at the site and took stock of the extent of the damage caused by the floods."

Authorities keep a close eye on the rising water. The heavy rain wrecked key infrastructure and severed essential travel lines. Repairs cannot begin until the water subsides. Officials continue to monitor the flood impact throughout the district.
