Guwahati: Assam Minister Keshab Mahanta says a recent wave of resignations from the Trinamool Congress confirms growing uncertainty within the party. Mahanta noted that many members stood by Mamata Banerjee for years despite personal reservations, but the current climate has pushed several leaders to seek new political paths.

BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain supported this view, suggesting that the party faces internal turmoil as senior members lose faith in its leadership. Regarding those exiting the organization, Hussain stated, "wiser ones were resigning from TMC as they no longer felt it was right to remain."

This exodus includes three high-profile departures from the Rajya Sabha within a single week. Former MP Prakash Chik Baraik resigned on Thursday, citing the opinion of the people of West Bengal as the primary driver for his move. His departure followed the resignations of Sushmita Dev on June 10 and Sukhendu Sekhar Ray on June 8. These exits have fueled widespread speculation regarding internal cohesion and potential political realignments for the party moving forward.
