Guwahati: Boko-Chhaygaon MLA Raju Mesh officially launched three road projects valued at approximately Rs 3.3 crore on June 12. These developments fall under the 2025-26 State-Owned Priority Development scheme and aim to provide consistent all-weather access to multiple villages within the constituency.

The largest project, estimated at Rs 1.5 crore, spans two kilometres from Agchiya Deochor to the residence of Basanta Kalita. This road will feature semi-dense bituminous concrete and four hume pipe culverts. A second project worth Rs 1.19 crore covers a one-kilometre stretch from Boko-Chamaria Road to Raipara, incorporating a wooden bridge and various drainage improvements. Finally, a Rs 61.29 lakh project will connect Athkupara PWD Road to Ganya Cemetery Road.

The foundation stone ceremonies occurred across Raipara, Athkupara, and Deochor with officials from the Public Works Department in attendance. Mesh highlighted the broader effort to modernize local infrastructure, noting that foundation stones for 13 road projects have been laid in the constituency over the past six days.

Addressing local residents, Mesh said, "The projects would improve transportation and facilitate development in rural areas." He expressed confidence that these initiatives will address long-pending work and lead to a significant transformation of rural connectivity in the coming years.
