Guwahati: Bijit Ray cleared the NEET UG 2026 exam with 502 marks. He lives in Balajan Tiniali, located in the Kokrajhar district of Assam. His success came despite deep financial struggle. Poverty is no barrier here.
His father, Gobinda Ray, drives an e-rickshaw for a living. He also takes on daily wage labor and farm work to feed the family. His mother, Hira Ray, stood by him throughout his studies. The parents admit they did not even know what the NEET exam was when Bijit began his prep.
Locals in the region now view his achievement as a major point of pride. His journey highlights how grit overcomes a lack of resources. Bijit offers simple advice to others chasing similar goals. He said, "Keep studying, work hard and have faith in yourself. Success will follow."
