Assam Chief Minister Inspects Massive RG Baruah Sports Complex Overhaul

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the RG Baruah Sports Complex in Guwahati on June 29. He walked the site of the Rs 765-crore redevelopment project. Construction is moving forward. The state wants a world-class football stadium and modern facilities for various sports.

Sarma walked the grounds to check how the work is tracking. He told officials to meet the deadline. The finish line matters. He insisted on top-tier quality for the build.

The state aims to boost its sporting profile with this complex. Officials hope to cultivate young talent and draw national or international games to Assam. Sarma demanded efficiency to get the job done right. During the site visit, Sarma said the project should be completed on schedule to deliver world-class sports infrastructure for athletes and sports enthusiasts in Assam.
