Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a strategic goal to bring the state's below poverty line population to under 3 percent within the next five years. He shared the vision on the social media platform X, emphasizing that the state must move beyond mere promises to deliver tangible economic progress for every household.
Sarma stated that achieving a developed state depends on sustained and inclusive growth. His administration remains focused on various initiatives to lift residents out of poverty, including expanded employment opportunities, infrastructure development, and targeted welfare schemes. By prioritizing these areas, the government intends to improve the socio-economic conditions for all citizens across Assam.
