Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma killed the rumors today. He confirmed that no plans exist to strip the Bodo language from the state legislative assembly or official government business. The speculation started causing a stir, but the state government put the chatter to bed fast.

Sarma checked with the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly. The Speaker confirmed that no such proposal is under consideration. The Chief Minister took to X to set the record straight for the public.

He described the Bodo language as an "inseparable part of Assam's rich cultural heritage and identity." For Sarma, the language represents the history and traditions of the local community. It serves as a pillar for the state's linguistic diversity.

The government remains locked into a plan to protect local dialects. Officials promise to keep pushing for the growth of Bodo so it stays strong for future generations. No changes are coming to the status of the language in official state matters.
