Guwahati: The Kaliabor sub-divisional administration in Assam has enforced Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita in the Hatimura area. This decision follows severe riverbank erosion that has compromised the safety of the region over the past several days.

Under the new mandate, gatherings of four or more people are prohibited within the affected zone. These restrictions are effective immediately and will remain in place day and night for the duration of the monsoon season or until local officials issue further notice.

The administration implemented these measures to prevent accidents and protect the public in the vulnerable area. Officials warned that anyone violating the order will face legal consequences under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, specifically Section 223 and other relevant provisions.

Local authorities are urging residents to follow the safety protocols and cooperate with the administration as the erosion continues to threaten the Hatimura region.
