Arunachal Pradesh Seeks Central Support to Boost State Tourism

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Tourism and Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona met with Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss the expansion of the state’s tourism sector. The delegation, which included Anini MLA Mopi Mihu and the state’s tourism advisor, focused on enhancing infrastructure and strategic destination planning.

Sona emphasized the need to position Arunachal Pradesh as a unique, sustainable travel destination. He requested continued guidance and support from the Union Ministry to help the state leverage its natural potential to drive economic growth and generate local livelihoods.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to ongoing collaboration between the state and central authorities. Sona expressed his appreciation for the Union Minister’s “valuable insights” and the assurance of support aimed at strengthening the tourism landscape across the region.
