Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu started Operation Arunoday this Saturday. The civil-military project aims to push adventure tourism while spotlighting the state's rugged frontier. It is a big move for the region.

The initiative opens a trek from Thingbu village to Bajrang Peak. This climb hits 5,583 metres. Officials expect this to create fresh jobs for locals while showing off the area’s strategic importance. The project focuses on sustainable travel in these remote border zones.

The Indian Army and the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports are running the expedition together. They want to prove that border areas are for more than just defense. Residents should be able to enjoy them, too.

Khandu emphasized the vision behind the program during the launch ceremony. "Immensely happy to have flagged off this expedition, jointly undertaken by the Indian Army and NIMAS. Wishing the team a safe and successful mission," the Chief Minister said.
