Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh para-athlete Boje Marbom has been selected to represent India at the 5th Asian Para Games. The international competition is set to take place in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, in 2026.
State leadership celebrated the announcement, highlighting the selection as a major milestone for regional para-sports. Chief Minister Pema Khandu shared his congratulations on social media, wishing Marbom success and expressing hope that he will continue to bring glory to both India and Arunachal Pradesh on the international stage.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also commended the athlete, describing the achievement as a reflection of Marbom's perseverance and dedication. He noted that Marbom's journey serves as an inspiration to young athletes across the country and affirmed that the state fully supports him as he prepares for the games.
The upcoming event in Japan will gather elite para-athletes from across the continent. Marbom’s participation marks a significant step forward for the sporting community in Arunachal Pradesh, illustrating the state's increasing commitment to supporting its representatives in global competitions.
