Arunachal MP Opens First North East Sports Meet in Delhi

Itanagar: Rajya Sabha MP Nabam Tagak kicked off the inaugural Delhi and NCR North East Sports Meet 2026 on July 31. He served as the chief guest for the opening ceremony. The event drew key figures including Delhi Olympic Association President Saroj Sharma, CEO Kuldeep Vats, and Chairman Manash Deka.

The 7 Sisters Foundation organized the meet alongside the Delhi Olympic Association. They want to connect athletes from the Northeast living in the capital region. It is about sportsmanship and youth empowerment. Tagak spoke to the crowd about his vision for the country.

"Culture and sports serve as powerful forces that connect people and strengthen national integration," Tagak said. He told the gathered athletes to focus on discipline and fair play. He expects these young competitors to shape the future of Indian sports.

The MP praised the volunteers and sponsors for their work. He also highlighted the need to respect regional identities across India. This initiative aims to build stronger bonds between people from every corner of the nation.
