Itanagar: The NAH Welfare Society says the Chinese People’s Liberation Army is taking over Indian soil. The group alerted the Deputy Commissioner of Upper Subansiri district in a June 26, 2026, letter regarding rapid expansion near the Taksing circle. Chinese forces have allegedly set up military camps, built bridges, and cut new roads into land once held by local tribes.

President Keru Chader named five specific sites now under foreign occupation, including Oying, Paniar, Marpan, Potrang Lake, and Tindingtang. These areas served as ancestral hunting grounds and cattle-grazing spots for generations. Some are even sacred pilgrimage sites in the Tsari region. The society claims these border zones were firmly inside India before 2020.

The group provided photographs to the local administration to back their claims of territorial loss. Chader warned that the speed of the construction is highly problematic. "We are losing our land inch by inch, day by day, to them," Chader wrote. He argued that the current military presence is failing to stop the advance. "They have been guarding our land for many years, but their efforts are not enough," he added.

The organization now demands that the state and Union governments step in. They want immediate intervention to stop the Chinese military from hardening its positions on Indian territory. The society seeks a total halt to the ongoing infrastructure projects that have reshaped the border landscape over the last five years.
