Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd.) honored NCC cadets who represented the state at the Republic Day Camp, parade, and Prime Minister’s Rally in 2025 and 2026. The ceremony took place at NERIST on September 16. The Governor praised the cadets for acting as ambassadors of the state, showcasing its diverse tribal communities and vibrant heritage on the national stage.
Parnaik stressed the importance of discipline, education, and motivation for the next generation. He urged the youth to seek innovative solutions to societal problems, referencing the Prime Minister’s call for an "ecosystem of solutions" to drive national growth. He expects these young leaders to contribute directly to the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
The honors list included several key participants. Senior Under Officer Lunkung Yaji of the 1 AP Battalion NCC represented the state at the 2025 parade on Kartavya Path. Other 2025 honorees included Senior Under Officer Galmu Tamang, Under Officer Vishal Rai, Sergeant Chow Sidharth Manlai, and Sergeant Mitet Megu. For 2026, Under Officer Koj Nancy, Cadet Elisha Kino, Cadet Likha Takap, Senior Under Officer Rahul Chutia, Senior Under Officer Ajay Singh, Corporal Tamo Suniya, Sergeant Nanu Tamang, Sergeant Bir Tamang, and Cadet James Modi received recognition. Captain Palvinder Singh from Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic College also earned praise for his training contributions.
The event drew top officials including Roing MLA Muthchu Mithi and NERIST Director Prof. Narendranath S. Currently, Arunachal Pradesh maintains 12,760 NCC cadets across its battalions in Naharlagun, Pasighat, and Tawang.
