Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor K.T. Parnaik is demanding a unified state response to handle the massive flooding wreaking havoc on lives and infrastructure. He met with Chief Minister Pema Khandu at Lok Bhavan on Tuesday to hash out the crisis.

Flash floods and landslides have trashed 14 villages in the Lower Siang district. The storm hit hard. It wiped out paddy fields, private homes, and public works while cutting off key road links across the region.

Parnaik insisted on teamwork. He called for a "whole of the state" approach to handle the disaster. State agencies and local groups must sync up to get help to those who need it most, he said.

Khandu updated the Governor on current relief efforts and safety measures already in play. Parnaik tipped his hat to the State Disaster Response Force, civil aviation crews, and the Indian Red Cross Society. He praised the volunteers and locals for grinding through the rescue and rehab work. The two leaders also checked the status of state development programs during the meeting.
