Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh remains locked in a battle against nature. Four people are dead after a week of relentless rain, flash floods, and landslides across all 28 districts. The State Emergency Operation Centre reports that 90,499 people are suffering, a sharp jump from early week figures.

A landslide killed one person in Anjaw district on June 28. Three others died earlier when floods hit Keyi Panyor. Two women remain missing, and 21 people suffered injuries in the deluge. Upper Siang holds the highest toll with over 47,000 people impacted.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu toured the damage with Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Kiren Rijiju. The group conducted ground and aerial assessments. Khandu posted on X, "Warmly welcomed Hon'ble Union Ministers Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Ji and Shri Kiren Rijiju Ji on their visit to Arunachal to assess the flood situation and the damage caused by the recent calamity."

The destruction is everywhere. Floods ruined hundreds of homes and killed hundreds of livestock. Infrastructure is shattered, including 80 roads, 12 bridges, and 147 water supply schemes. Farmers lost massive amounts of paddy, oranges, and bananas. NDRF, SDRF, and the Air Force are running rescue missions. They are moving food and medicine into the hardest-hit areas as restoration crews struggle to clear blocked roads.
