Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein wants results. He demanded all government departments speed up the roll-out of the 2026-27 state budget proposals. Mein held a review meeting to track progress on major projects. He holds the finance portfolio. Officials must act now.
The state government set a total budget of 36,607 crore rupees. The focus remains on infrastructure, governance reforms, and people-centric work. Mein specifically highlighted the Chief Minister’s Rural Development Programme and the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Power Development Programme as top priorities for immediate action.
He also pushed for a balanced approach across several sectors. These include education, healthcare, drinking water supply, physical connectivity, and skill development. "Equal attention must be given to critical sectors such as education, healthcare, drinking water supply, physical connectivity and skill development to ensure balanced and inclusive development across the state," Mein posted on social media.
Department heads have their marching orders. They must submit revised guidelines if the current ones cause delays. They also need to flag any extra funding needs immediately. The government wants these bottlenecks gone. Projects must move forward without hesitation.
