Itanagar: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Arunachal Pradesh has officially selected senior leader Tai Tagak as its candidate for the state's lone Rajya Sabha seat. Party state president Kaling Moyong delivered the nomination ticket to Tagak on June 6, formalizing the party's choice for the Upper House representation.

Leadership within the party selected Tagak based on his extensive history with the organization and his efforts to bolster the party's grassroots presence across the state. Moyong praised Tagak for his decades of political work and his commitment to expanding the party's reach into remote and rural regions.

During the nomination presentation, Moyong stated, "Tagak would be expected to bring forward the state’s developmental priorities, infrastructure needs, and broader aspirations at the national level." The party expects him to serve as an effective voice for the state's interests in Parliament. Tagak is now set to proceed through the formal electoral steps to secure the seat.
