Itanagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with Chief Minister Pema Khandu to weigh the wreckage in Arunachal Pradesh. Relentless rain has hammered the state for days. The weather triggered flash floods, landslides, and river erosion across multiple districts.

East Kameng, West Kameng, Lower Subansiri, Papum Pare, and the capital of Itanagar took the hardest hits. Rising water destroyed bridges and cut off critical road links. Authorities evacuated families from zones deemed at high risk. The state remains in a fight to keep people safe.

The India Meteorological Department warned of more extreme rain ahead. Local officials issued travel advisories while rescue squads fanned out across the state. SDRF, NDRF, and Army units are on the ground clearing debris and running relief camps. Shah assured the state of "Centre's full support" as the monsoon intensity keeps rising across the Northeast.
