Amit Shah Announces Strategy to Curb Eastern Border Infiltration

Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the central government is intensifying efforts to block illegal immigration across India's eastern borders. To create a more robust security framework, he plans to convene a meeting soon with the Chief Ministers of Assam, Tripura, and West Bengal.

Shah noted that these three state governments have adopted a firm policy against illegal infiltration. During his recent address, he expressed confidence in the unified stance held by these regional leaders regarding border integrity.

Beyond high-level policy meetings, Shah directed the Border Security Force to improve its grassroots operations. He urged personnel to move beyond standard border surveillance by coordinating closely with local officials, including district collectors, police superintendents, and local station officers. By centralizing information from these local contacts, the Home Minister intends to develop a streamlined system for identifying and expelling infiltrators more effectively.
