All Sümi Students' Union Warns Absentee Government Officials

Kohima: The All Sümi Students' Union (SKK) has issued a final warning to government employees who continue to neglect their duties by failing to report to their assigned stations. Despite previous directives and inspections, the union claims that some officials remain absent, which disrupts public services and causes significant inconvenience for local residents.

SKK President Hipito Achumi and General Secretary P Samuel Chophy stated that the organization will no longer tolerate this dereliction of duty. In a press release, the leadership warned that failure to comply with the directive will lead to public exposure and formal complaints to authorities, saying, "Failure to comply, it stated, would invite scrutiny, public exposure and the forwarding of documented reports to the competent authorities for necessary disciplinary action."

To ensure compliance, the union has instructed its constituent units to intensify monitoring efforts across all Sümi-inhabited areas. These units are tasked with conducting thorough inspections and submitting detailed reports regarding any staff members who are absent without valid justification. The SKK maintains that government service requires a commitment to the welfare of the public and plans to continue its oversight to ensure efficient service delivery.
