Actor Bhumi Pednekar Visits Sikkim to Promote Sustainable Tourism

Gangtok: Actor and environmental advocate Bhumi Pednekar arrived in Sikkim on Wednesday for a three-day familiarization tour. The visit, which runs from June 10 to 13, follows a special invitation from the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department of the Government of Sikkim.

Sonam Norgay Lachungpa, the chairperson of the department, greeted the actor upon her arrival alongside various departmental officials. The state government organized the trip to highlight Sikkim as a premier destination for responsible travel and environmental conservation.

During her stay, Pednekar will explore the state's cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and tourism offerings. Officials stated that the visit will help showcase Sikkim's hospitality while highlighting its dedication to eco-friendly practices. According to the department, the visit is part of efforts to promote "sustainable tourism, environmental conservation and responsible travel in Sikkim."
