Zunheboto Crews Patch Potholes Before Governor's Arrival

Kohima: Crews in Zunheboto scrambled to fix a crumbling road this week. The District Urban Development Office patched deep potholes along a stretch connecting the Assam Rifles Camp to the North Point Colony Multipurpose Hall. It was a rush job. Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav arrives in the district on Monday, September 28.

The Governor plans to land his helicopter at the camp before heading to the hall for his scheduled engagement. Commuters have dealt with the deplorable road surface for a long time. The recent patchwork offers some relief, but the fix remains temporary. Locals are now questioning the long-term plan. "Questions remain over the road's long-term condition, with no clarity yet on whether more extensive repairs will be undertaken."

Town officials continue their final preparations today. The district braces for the high-profile visit. Whether the road holds up after Monday remains to be seen.
