Zukhumki Federation Reviews Progress at Third Annual General Meeting

Kohima: The Zukhumki Federation recently held its third Annual General Meeting at the AG Church in Koio Village, Wokha. The event brought together members of the Chukitong Block under the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission to review progress and establish goals for future community development.

Yanrenthung Humtsoe, Chairman of MSME-PCI Wokha District, served as the special guest. He praised the mission for its role in fostering financial independence, describing it as a “valuable platform” for rural communities. Humtsoe urged members to prioritize financial literacy and take advantage of government training programs to ensure the long-term success of their self-help groups.

Local leaders noted that these collective efforts have significantly boosted household incomes and encouraged entrepreneurship. Head GB of Koio Village, Nchumbemo Ezung, observed that the programs have empowered women to contribute directly to both family welfare and village development.

During a session on member experiences, Lochumlo Kikon shared how her group, CIG on Spices, transitioned from struggling with basic operations to achieving state-level recognition. Through diversification into product processing and cultivation, the group eventually secured the Best Performing SHG Award in 2018. The meeting concluded with financial reports and a call for continued dedication to sustainable livelihoods across the region.
