Imphal: Yengkhom Netramani College of Nursing in Kakching marked a milestone this week. The institution held its first graduation ceremony for students finishing the Bachelor of Science Nursing programme. Dignitaries filled the hall to mark the occasion.
Former Dhanamanjuri University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nongmaithem Rajmuhon attended as chief guest. YN College Managing Director Dr. Yengkhom Ashok Kumar presided over the event. NIELIT Imphal Executive Director Dr. Yumnam Jayanta and Manipur University Examination Controller T. Shantikumar served as guests of honour. Prof. Thoudam Nandarani of the Trained Nurses Association of India and college principal Prof. Gurumayum Martina also took their places on the dais.
Prof. Rajmuhon praised Dr. Ashok Kumar and Dr. Jeevanlata for building a hospital and paramedical institutes across South Manipur. He noted how the nursing field has moved from a low-status job to a dignified, respected career. He told the new graduates, "uphold the highest standards of professionalism" as they enter the workforce.
The chief guest handed out graduation certificates to the first batch. He also issued awards to students who earned top marks throughout their semesters. He pushed the graduates to keep working hard and stay dedicated to serving humanity.
