New 100-Bed Student Hostel Opens in Kakching District

Imphal: Education Director Ng. Bhogendro Meitei opened the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya Residential Hostel at Langmeidong Higher Secondary School today. The facility adds 100 beds to the Kakching district school. It splits the capacity evenly with 50 beds for boys and 50 for girls.

Additional Director Khumujcham Bisheshore and Principal Chandam Khomei joined the ceremony. Students will move from their current cramped quarters at the Langmeidong Dramatic Union Hall into the new building immediately. The delay frustrated officials but the wait is over. During the event, Bhogendro said, "The hostel, despite being completed earlier, could not be handed over on time due to various reasons."

The department promised to provide extra perks to keep the study environment sharp. Teachers earned praise for their work getting government help to students in need. Bhogendro pledged to fill lingering gaps at the campus. After the ribbon cutting, the Director toured schools in Thounaojam, Elangkhangpokpi, and Waikhong. The Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency MLA nominee and a public relations officer shadowed him on the site visits.
