Wokha Town Council Officials Visit Mokokchung to Share Municipal Strategies

Kohima: A delegation from the Wokha Town Council recently traveled to Mokokchung for an exposure visit focused on municipal development. Led by chairperson W. Myingthungo Kikon, the Wokha team met with their counterparts from the Mokokchung Municipal Council at the local conference hall on June 12.

During the session, chairperson Imkongchuba and the Wokha delegation discussed the various challenges facing urban local bodies. The two groups compared ongoing activities and explored strategies to provide better services for their respective residents. The visit prioritized collaborative efforts in solid waste management, waste segregation, and scientific disposal methods.

The visiting council members toured several key infrastructure sites in Mokokchung to observe operations firsthand. Their itinerary included inspections of the municipal abattoir, the compost plant, and the Material Recovery Facility. These visits were designed to facilitate knowledge sharing, with the ultimate goal of enhancing service delivery and improving the quality of life for residents.
