Wokha Official Reports Five Deaths Due to Human-Elephant Conflict

Kohima: Wokha Deputy Commissioner Mhathung Tsanglao revealed that human-elephant conflict has affected more than 100 villages in the district since 2018. During this period, the interactions between residents and wildlife have resulted in five confirmed fatalities.

Tsanglao shared these figures while speaking at a seminar focused on access to justice for victims of human-wildlife conflict. The event took place at the Likya Community Hall in Wokha on May 30 to address the legal and social challenges faced by those impacted by these incidents.
