Kohima: Outsiders are officially barred from fishing, hunting, or gathering plants within the Viphoma Village jurisdiction. The Viphoma Village Youth and Sports Organization issued the mandate on September 13 to protect the local environment. It is a total ban.
Anyone caught violating these rules will pay a heavy price. The organization set a penalty of Rs. 10,000 for each person or piece of ammunition found on-site. The group expects total compliance from the public.
Vikethozo Peya, President of VVYSO, and Asezo Khoubve, General Secretary of VVYSO, formally endorsed the notice. The group made it clear they intend to maintain order. "This directive will be enforced strictly," the organization stated in a press release.
