Guwahati: A motorcycle and a parked car went up in flames on the Silchar-Sonai Road near Aulia Bazar. The fire broke out around 1 pm on August 23 right in front of IS Digital. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage. The intensity of the blaze overwhelmed local residents who rushed to put it out.
No drivers were inside either vehicle when the fire started. Witnesses suggest the owners had walked to a nearby examination centre to take a test. Police arrived on the scene after receiving reports of the fire. They removed the charred remains and took the vehicles to the police station. Authorities still do not know what sparked the blaze. Police have initiated an investigation to determine how the fire started.
