Udaipur Villagers Break Ground on New Anganwadi Centre

Agartala: Construction teams broke ground on a new Anganwadi Centre in Chandrapur Garjantilla this Wednesday morning. The facility arrives after years of persistent public pressure. Residents say the lack of a local center created severe hardship for mothers and young children. Families previously struggled to reach basic nutrition, pre-primary education, and maternal care services.

Officials launched the project with a formal Bhoomi Pujan ceremony. Matabari MLA Abhishek Debroy, District Council Vice-President Sujan Sen, and Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Shilpi Das attended the event. The project carries an estimated cost of Rs 11 lakh. Dozens of locals gathered to watch the work begin.

Community members described the development as the end of a long wait. Villagers hope the new building will streamline access to welfare programs and boost childhood health and education. The atmosphere remained festive throughout the proceedings. Many attendees expressed deep relief that their demands were finally met. Locals believe the center will provide essential services more effectively, stating it marks the end of a long wait.
